Risk Modeler Game
Overview
The mission was to transform an unexciting survey into an exciting app-based game. Having gone through many iterations, the biggest challenge was to reduce the amount of time the game demanded of a user and also creating input modules that could capture the same information as the survey would.
Role: UX Research & UX/UI Design
Discovery
Part I
The initial thought was to create a futuristic visualization of the survey. We did have a light version for about 2 seconds, but it didn’t test well during our initial research. As I was creating the UX/UI experience simultaneously I realized that the experience had be broken up into simplistic steps to keep the cognitive at a minimum rather than the initial take of keeping everything on one screen.
Part II
Some snippets of my thought process as I was evaluating and exploring the experience.
Part III
As I was exploring the UX experience, I was also seeking more inspiration for the visual style of the app. There were many many references in pop culture that I could pull from, anywhere from: Star Trek, Minority Report, Prometheus, TRON, and Iron Man. I definitely explored a few of these visualization.
The Solution
I’m quite excite to share this project, even if so many years have past. Every step of the way I learned something new and exciting everyday. With the open minded collaboration on the team it was is to bring ideas to the table, such as getting inspiration from one of my favorite movies TRON. Being able to participate in user testing in the background and seeing awesome results was one of key proudest moments in my career. The entire team including the executives where excited and proud to share the Risk Modeler Game with clients.
